Uruguay tries to steal Quak Wordsearch

July 29th, 2009 Gareth No comments

Uruguay flagIn the early hours of this morning we received an email from GameWrapper alerting us to the fact that someone from Uruguay had become the first person to try to steal from us. They tried to steal Quak Wordsearch. They downloaded the wrapper and then ran it on their local machine. In fact, they ran it twice.

Thanks to GameWrapper, they were presented with a message that told them that the request was unauthorised and that they needed to come here in order to play the game legitimately.

GameWrapper not only allows for us to specify who can play the content and who can’t, but it also tracks and records usage around the world and alerts us to any unauthorised attempts to run our content.

To the would-be thief: if you want to play the game, you can either play it here or you can buy a copy to use legitimately. Thanks.

Name that NoteHaving just completed Name that Note: Pitch Recognition Edition, I revisited the original game to implement the improvements that had gone into the spin-off. The game now features:

  • New music
  • The ability to turn the music off/on
  • The sharp notes have been added
  • The two less popular clefs have been removed
  • The scale now starts at C rather than A.

Name that Note: Pitch Recognition EditionThanks to some really helpful feedback that I received over the weekend, I’ve added new features and changed some settings on Name that Note: Pitch Recognition Edition. The changes are:

  • The ability to turn the music off/on
  • The sharp notes have been added
  • You now get to see and hear the note that you selected whether you were right or wrong
  • The scale now starts at C rather than A.

Name that Note: Piano Notes EditionI’ve just completed a Name that Note spin-off that focuses on improving people’s pitch-recognition over the treble clef. This time around, the note in question is played rather than shown, and you must guess the correct note simply from what you hear. You can replay the note as many times as you like, though of course the clock is always ticking so best not hang around hitting the Replay button for too long!

Once you’ve made a guess – whether you’re right or wrong – you’ll get to see the note in question on the stave for a couple of seconds before the game moves onto the next note.

For more information on the game, to play it or to buy it, please visit the Name that Note: Pitch Recognition Edition page.
