I found this tool on the website http://www.soundfeelings.com/namethatnote/index.html
and have given the link to all my recorder students.
As feedback, not all instruments play all notes and this is a deterrent to my students selecting the 'virtuoso' level. For example, a treble/sopranino recorder player can't go below F, but needs to read notes above the stave up to about E. An option to set parameters at 'my bottom note' and/or 'my top note' (perhaps sliding a note up and down the stave?) would be really useful.
Thanks for a fantastic tool.

Hi Brian

I see that you're using 1&1 as a host which is good news as they offer unlimited bandwidth with all of their packages. The game is only around 1mb too which isn't a lot.

If you still want the game then let me know and I'll send you the files!

Thanks

If possible I will add to the web site if not I will let you know. I am not sure the host won't charge me more money if it changes bandwidth and usage from my site.

Hi Margaret

The game's made in Flash so all you need is a browser and the Flash player. The fact that you were able to play the game means your machine already meets the requirements so that's nothing to worry about.

The game only shows you what the note was if your answer was incorrect; if you were correct then it simply moves on to the next one. It also plays C before every note to help with calibration, and of course you can click on either the replay or C button to hear the question/calibration again before selecting your answer.

You're free to use the game as it is here, or if you'd like it on your website let me know and I'll send you the file.

Quite interested in this as I teach piano. When I played it the notes appeared after the answer or not at all- don't quite know if this is because my pc hasn't got java set up or something similar- do you have a list of system requirements you have tested it with?
